Root Beer On My Birthday

Root Beer that drank on my birthday

For my birthday, I drank beer.  Umm….Root Beer.  And for some reason, I did not get a hang over or feel weird the next day.  Most of my friends and relatives know that I don’t drink, so the thought of me drinking any beer is something to laugh at.  In my whole life, I have drank very little alcohol.

I went with a friend to eat at a Chinese Buffet.  After that we went to Orange Leaf to get some yogurt.  At the Orange Leaf, you grab a bowl and fill it with different kinds of yogurt.  I selected Cheesecake and Coffee flavors.  Then I put cashews, granola bits and hot fudge on top of it.  It tasted pretty good.

I got a few birthday cards.  I also got some gift cards for StarBucks, Subway, Walmart, and another resturant.  I even got a postcard from Starbucks for a free coffee drink.  I don’t remember giving my birthday to Starbucks, but I was glad that I did.  I will take a free drink from Starbucks any day!

Funny Easter Eggs

Decorated Easter Eggs with funny eyes and hair

Me and some friends decorated some eggs yesterday.  The one friend decided to try something new instead of boiling the eggs.  He baked the eggs on the racks in the oven.  According to articles he read on the internet, they result in nicer eggs (0n the inside).   They turned out rather good on the inside and outside.

The egg decorating kit that we got was a rather interesting one.  It contained face parts, pipe cleaners, fuzzy hair parts, and glue.  Faces were easy to apply to the colored egg.  However; the pipe cleaner arms were a little harder.  The glue was not making them stick to the egg.  That is when we pulled out the super glue.  Although this was the best decision to make, it was the worst decision to make.  To make a long story short, one friend of mine went on an emergency run to Target to get finger nail polish remover.  I was able to pry my fingers apart before she left on her run to Target, but I really needed to get the rest of the super glue off my hands.  I really appreciated it when she returned with the nail polish remover.  I rubbed the nail polish remover all over my hands and washed them several times.  I still have some glue on my hands today, but hope that it wears off soon.

Word of advice…if you are going to glue hair and arms to your Easter eggs, be sure to wear plastic gloves.

Happy Easter!

Vote for Charlie The Cute Dog

Charlie_the_cute_dog

Please Note: Voting has ended for Charlie.  No need to vote for him as of this date.
He did not win this round, but maybe next time.

I would like to tell everyone about Charlie.  Charlie is a dog that belongs to someone I know.  No matter what mood he is in, he always looks like he is happy.  He is full of energy.

Currently, you can vote for him as the “Cutest Pet Contest” that you can find on the Hy-Vee.com website.  The way you can do this is to go to the Hy-Vee.com website and click on the section that states about the “Cutest Pet Contest”.  Then you type in “Charlie” in the search box.  A few different “Charlie” pets might appear, but you will eventually see this Charlie who is wearing a blue shirt.

Dog praying for his bone

Dog praying for bone when he got his Christmas gift.

For Christmas, I went to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  As we all know, many humans like to get Christmas gifts.  But, we forget that there is one more creature that likes to get Christmas presents too.  Hopefully you guessed the family dog as one of these creatures.  Tobie was good all year so I got him a few presents.  I got him one of the Christmas crunch cards for dogs.  He seemed to like it becaused it was chewed up in no time.  These crunch cards are also available for dogs birthdays, valentine’s day, and many other holidays.  Pictured above is Tobie with another present from me.  My camera caught him just at the right moment where he looks like he is praying for his bone.  As happy as he was with the bone, I can only assume that he was very thankful for the bone.
