Recently, I stopped by the video store to pick out some movies.  I was then on my way over to a friend's house to watch them there.  However; when I was about five blocks away, the friend called to tell me that the power was out in the whole area.  I have not seen an area so dark in a long time.  There was no street lights, no car lights (no one driving in the dark), and no lights on from people's home.  I knew that no movies would be watched that night.  So, I just visited with the friend, since we obviously were not going to watch any movies.  About one and half hours to two hours later, the power came back on.

Then the same friend tried to return some movies that I got from that video store.  However; that even turned out to be an impossible task.  When this friend started to get close to the video store, you could see that there was a bunch of police cars and lots of yellow tape that was blocking the area.  It turned out that the police stopped a van (or at least I think it was a van) that was converted into a mobile meth lab.  It was later on the news and showed pictures of guys in protective suits disposing of the potentially harmful meth lab.

It produces a little laugh that it seems like only bad things happen whenever someone visit's this store.  Who needs to rent scary and action movies when you can have the real thing happen to you (lights go out, explosive meth labs, etc)?
