I was at a store recently and heard what appeared to be opera singing.  I looked over at that direction and could only see one guy who had a big smile on his face.  He looked like he was trying to hold back laughter.  Then just a few seconds later I heard the singing again.  I looked again and this time it appeared to be coming from a woman who was pushing her shopping cart.  Feeling like a spy, I pretended to be looking at some item in the store and waited for it to happen again.  A few seconds later I saw the front cashiers smiling and trying to hold back laughter.   Because right at that moment, the singing started again from the direction of the woman.  I really wanted to believe that the woman had head phones on and some how the singing had escaped the CD player.  However; I then saw the woman’s mouth moving and I could see that she was singing something (maybe opera songs – you could not tell what she was saying).  I then watched the cashier ask the woman (right in the middle of her song) if she wanted paper or plastic to put her groceries in.  She must of answered the cashier, but then quickly went right back into her song as she put the groceries on the conveyor belt.

I am not exactly sure what this was all about, but have to say that it put a little chuckle in me.  I have heard of singing in the shower, but singing in the check out counter is the first time I ever heard of this.
