A “friend” of mine went on a date just recently. I wont reveal her real identity. Her date bought her meal. She ate half her sandwich and then asked for a “box lunch” (doggie bag, etc) for the other half. She came back rather embarrassed and told me that she could not believe that she did such a thing. I personally could not understand why this would be embarrassing or even give a bad impression to a date. I told her that the sandwich was going to go to waste if she did not take it to go. I also told her that this is a common practice and that her date should not think that she is a free loader or just trying to get a free meal.
If she requested a second sandwich and got it boxed up for another meal, then I would agree that this would be totally unacceptable and that the term “free loader” might even have to be used. Also, if she went to an “All You Can Eat” buffet and asked for a doggie bag, then I might also have to add this term to her.
My friend (don’t ask who she is) has asked me to place a survey on my website to find out if people think this behavior was acceptable or not. Keep in mind that we are only looking at the “impression” it created on her date. The survey question has nothing to do with if it is acceptable or not to save food for another meal. Help her out by answering the survey question below.

Check back later when I post the results of this survey. You can join my blog by CLICKING HERE and you will get my blog entries sent to your email address. That way you will know when I publish this survey results.
