Dead flower that I accidently killed

Another view of the dead flower that I accidently killed

I did not have a very good time when I cut grass the last time.  Here is how the story goes:

1) I pour gasoline into the lawn mower.
2) I accidentally over flow the lawn mower spout.
3) Gasoline gets on the drive way.
4) I take the hose and spray the gasoline to wash it away and dilute it.
5) As the hose sprung across, it hit a friend's flowers – Not one flower, but two!
6) I am a dead man and I am going to run away to another country.

Ok, maybe I am not going to run away to another country.  But, I need your help!  I need to find out what type of flower this was.  The friend did not have any idea, because the seed package was thrown away.  Is it some sort of tulip?  Help me identify the flower so that I can replace it.  I will have to go to the local flower shop and get it replaced.  But, first I need to know what it was.

I took pictures of the killed flowers.  Hopefully you can leave me comments on what you think they were.
