bronzed baby shoes

My dad’s bronzed baby shoes.

I need your help on this one.  For many years, my father had his bronzed baby shoes on top of his dresser.  As I was growing up I would see them there as I was passing by.  My dad passed away a few years ago and my mom moved to a nursing home.  I sort of inherited the bronzed baby shoes.  However; I have no room for them and really don’t even want them.  But, something tugs inside me that won’t let me throw them out.  I want them to go to a good cause.  I donated my dad’s TV show scrapbooks to the Nebraska State Historical Society (see previous blog entry)  .  That made me feel good knowing that all the work he put into making that scrapbook was able to still be on display for someone else to see.  Please help give me ideas on what I can do with these bronzed shoes that will still give honor to my dad and make me feel like I have just not thrown them away.

Some ideas I came up with were:
1) Donate to a museum – Please note my dad was not that famous and I think many museums would not want them.  In fact, most would not want them because I called a few museums.

2) Put at some exhibit or meeting place.

3) Give as a prop to be used in a movie or TV show.  This would of really made dad happy since he really loved movies and TV shows.

I really need your ideas.  I know we all become pack rats and keep a lot of things from our past.  I have hung onto the bronzed baby shoes for some time now and feel it is time I need to do something with them.  Let me know of your ideas for them.  You can post them in the comments section by clicking here or enter them below the post.
