Buffalo Motel that was located in Lincoln, NebraskaBuffalo Motel that was located in Lincoln, Nebraska

My first exposure to the area was when I was very young.  The funny thing is that I now live in Omaha, Nebraska.  Some time around 1978, my family went on vacation.  One of the places that we stopped through was Lincoln, Nebraska.   I honestly don’t remember what all I saw there.  But, I do know my dad was big on visiting the state capitol buildings and assume that we took a tour of the Nebraska capitol building.   Pictured above is me in front of the Buffalo Motel which was located in Lincoln, Nebraska.  To my understanding, this motel is no longer there.  I looked further through the family photo album and found pictures of “Fort Kearney” (that is what my dad wrote under the caption of the photo).  I can only guess that this was some place near Kearney, Nebraska.  Within the same vacation, I came across a photo of the a “Pioneer Village” which is located in Minden, Nebraska.  In that photo, you can see an antique car perched on top of the sign for the building.  After that, I found one photo of us at the Imperial Motel in Omaha, Nebraska.  The last photo I found was that of the money display at Boys Town which is in Omaha, Nebraska.  I don’t know if they still have the money display, but I do believe the name has been changed to Girls and Boys Town.

I think I moved to Omaha, Nebraska sometime between 1994 and 1999.  So, you can see it was a long time after I originally visited Omaha that I moved here.
